Installation procedure for the derivation collar

The derivation collar is a device developed to facilitate the installation of CP-MBR units, replacing the need to install them on a flange by allowing installation on an adjacent pipe, which is easier to replace and machine.

Below is the step-by-step procedure for installing this accessory:

1. Remove duct

To facilitate installation, it is recommended to remove the pipe that connects the expansion tank to the air dryer. Since the pipe consists of two identical flanges, pay attention to the side where the hole will be made for the sensor to pass through.

2. Drill hole

After removing the pipe, use a 6 mm drill bit to make a hole at a 45° angle and 15 cm before the bend section of the pipe. This angle is necessary to facilitate the passage of the sensor cable.

Warning: During the procedure, stay alert to ensure the drill does not penetrate the bottom of the tube. After drilling, remove the chips and burrs from the hole.

3. Cable routing

The sensor installation should be done from bottom to top. To facilitate the passage of the sensor cable inside the tube, use an auxiliary cable tied to the sensor cable to pull the sensor cable through to the hole.

4. Sealing

Once the cable is pulled to the top, sealing is required. It is recommended to use sealing tape.

5. Saddle clamp

Next, install the saddle clamp on the pipe over the area of the hole.

6. Header

Install the header and proceed with the sensor installation as usual.

7. Return duct

After completing the sensor installation procedure, fit the tube back onto the expansion tank flange.
