In case you encounter difficulties or problems operating the system, we suggest consulting the possible causes and simple solutions presented below. If this information is not sufficient to resolve the difficulty, please contact Treetech's CS team or its authorized representative.
The equipment shows self-diagnosis messages on the display
The Temperature Monitor - TM firmware constantly checks the integrity of its functions and the sensors and modules connected to it. Any anomaly detected is signaled via its fault contact. Messages will be indicated on the TM display, assisting in the fault diagnosis process.
The meaning of the fault codes is shown in the following tables, respecting the digit on the display where the code appears. The code indication system is in hexadecimal coding. If simultaneous failures occur, the number indicated in a given digit will be the sum of the individual errors. Below is a table with possible combinations of errors in each digit.
Code of combinations of possible active errors
Code | Description |
0 | No active diagnosis |
1 | Diagnosis 1 active |
2 | Diagnosis 2 active |
3 | Diagnosis 1 + 2 active |
4 | Diagnosis 4 active |
5 | Diagnosis 1 + 4 active |
6 | Diagnosis 2 + 4 active |
7 | Diagnosis 1 + 2 + 4 active |
8 | Diagnosis 8 active |
9 | Diagnosis 1 + 8 active |
A | Diagnosis 2 + 8 active |
B | Diagnosis 1 + 2 + 8 active |
C | Diagnosis 4 + 8 active |
D | Diagnosis 1 + 4 + 8 active |
E | Diagnosis 2 + 4 + 8 active |
F | Diagnosis 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 active |

0002 | Internal self-diagnosis when reading RTDs. | Internal failure in the TM or unidentified external cause. | Restart the TM (remove power for a few seconds and reconnect) and contact Treetech CS. If the defect persists, replace the defective TM.
0004 | Self-diagnosis of maximum temperature difference between sensors. | a) Bad contact or disconnection in one of the cables connected to terminals 1 or 2 of the temperature sensors. b) Use of unshielded cable to connect the Pt100Ω at 0 °C sensor to the TM. c) Redundant measurement of top oil temperature is programmed in parameter OIL2, but only one sensor is being used. d) MTD parameter programmed with very low value. e) Shields of the TM connection cables to the Pt100Ω at 0°C sensor not grounded or grounded in more than one location. f) Internal temperature sensor failure. | a) Check for bad contacts or disconnections along the entire length of the cables connected to terminals 1 or 2 of the temperature sensors, including the connection to the TM, to the through terminals and the connection to the sensors. b) Check whether shielded cable is being used to connect the temperature sensors to the TM. c) Correct the programming of the OIL2 parameter according to the configuration actually used for the temperature sensors. d) Correct the programming of the MTD parameter so that it is not less than the normal temperature difference between the redundant sensors at the top of the oil. e) Check that the shielding of the cable connecting the TM to the temperature sensor is grounded only on one side of the connection and the other end is insulated. f) Replace the defective temperature sensor.
