The GMP should be installed in a location with the best oil flow and the lowest temperature, avoiding areas with stagnant oil or low flux. Installing the device in erroneous places can prejudice the sensor reading, and the high temperature injures the equipment.

At most power transformers, the recommended places for GMP installation are:

Local
Pros

Cons

Classification

Radiator's return valve

The temperature could decrease below 40ºC, which could cause a mesurement error

Great

Oil sampling valves

It is necessary to change the valve for another one with two exists, to sampling the oil

 Aviso !

We do not recommend installing the GMP at the power transformer top cover because the oil temperature could overpass the device oparating temperaure.
