In this guide, you will know, step by step, how to configure GMM-MMI to communicate with GMP.
Before starting the procedure, you need to check what firmware version your GMM has and identify if that version is compatible with GMP.
ℹ️ If you have questions about the firmware version compatibility between GMP and GMM, please refer to the following link: https://sac.treetech.com.br/en/support/solutions/articles/69000795220-what-is-the-gmm-and-how-it-is-related-to-gmp-

Communication:
To perform communication, it is necessary to connect the GMP to the GMM-MMI, as shown in the image below:
Connecting the communication terminals:
- GMP 3(+) → GMM 16(+);
- GMP 4(-) → GMM 17(-).
Once the connection has been checked, the address must be parameterized directly in GMP. The firmware version of the device must be taken into account for successful programming.
Firmware Version | Communication Address |
---|---|
1.17 | 1 |
2.00 | 247 |
From version 3.xx | 247 |
After this step, check the firmware version of the GMM. If it is version 4.00 or older, no further configuration is required. If it is version 4.20 onwards, set the following parameter:
MOD | GV1 | GMP1 with firmware v1.17 |
GV2 | GMP2 with firmware v.2.00 | |
GV3 | GMP2 with firmware v.3.xx |
After finishing the parameterization, the IEDs should already be communicating with each other.
