What is the purpose of having 2 Ethernet ports if they receive the same information?

The goal is to have physical redundancy to ensure greater reliability in case of a localized failure (if using a ring network with a managed switch) and distribution to multiple systems. It also aims to allow network continuity, as the SD+ can be connected at an intermediate point in the network.
